The question comes interests and motives by the industry to 'solve' the pandemic permanently, or allow it to remain as endemic at a cost to other industries (the health industry would revel in profits of vaccines, but every other single industries in society would suffer for it).

There is always a influential or political gain somewhere, and there is no chance that no one will not try to do take advantage of anything. And as such, human society keeps having infighting over short term gains and ruin the species as a whole.

It depends on what variant, Alpha is the deadliest but least able to infect, Delta is the most balanced in recent years with it's effect and infection, and Omicron is the weakest effect but strongest infection.

Viruses could even cross-breed and mutate with each other variants in a sense so it's always going to be a risk if one virus infects everyone, then another virus piggy backs on that one to apply a stronger fatal effect.

Unless you have Pfizer, Moderna or Novavax, which are the 3 more effective RNA vaccines, other vaccines are the vector virus strains which uses actual dead virus variant to get a immune response from your body.
